Wow! Hold onto your armrests readers because this is one bumpy ride. A sister is released from a psychiatric hospital that she has willingly lived at for 15 years. As a child she was convinced that she shot her mother which then caused her father to shoot himself and take the blame. Now, as a grown woman she is going back to the Upper Peninsula home where it began and reunited with her older sister and aunt. Some of her memories are different than the police report and she is starting to question her guilt. Do we believe her version that it was a sad accident or do we think somebody is messing with her mind?
In alternating chapters that go back to the early days when the girls were young we start to get a different POV. Packs a punch and never lets up. A intense journey into remote Michigan almost to Canada that the author knows extremely well - animals, guns and scary things. This will get any thriller reader's blood pressure up. 4 stars
