A bad breakup and a close encounter with a gun totting nut make it an easy decision for Alex to leave the city and take up a study of wolverines in remote Montana. She is staying at an abandoned ski resort that has seen better days with only a ghost or two for company and the nearest town is just out of reach. Soon she discovers that not everyone is happy that she is there and studying the wolverines.
Danger is everywhere and the pristine wilderness that offers her solitude won't hide the threats not from a wild animal but a two-legged one. Starts off with a bang (literally) and gives delightful descriptions of Montana and all its glory. Fans of Paul Doiran, BEARSKIN and C.J. Box will enjoy. 4 stars
